Coffea Futurica Podcast: Johanna Jacobi, ETH Zurich, on Agroecological Transition

What are the consequences of climate change for coffee production, for people, for the beverage itself, and indeed for the entire industry?

When you listen to Johanna Jacobi from ETZ Zurich, you realize that we cannot bring about sustainable change in isolation. "We need complex solutions for complex problems," says the professor of agroecological transitions.

Johanna's research field is broad, ranging from biology, through geography, agronomy to anthropology. With this wide perspective, she analyzes the coffee industry and sees change as possible only when everyone is actively involved and supply chains are organized more democratically.

Coffee is part of climate change. We all have a say in whether it becomes more part of the solution or part of the problem.
