Coffea Futurica Podcast: Johanna Jacobi, ETH Zurich, on Agroecological Transition

What are the consequences of climate change for coffee production, for people, for the beverage itself, and indeed for the entire industry?

Anyone who listens to Johanna Jacobi from ETH Zurich realizes that we cannot bring about sustainable change in isolation. "We need complex solutions for complex problems," says the professor of agroecological transitions.

Johanna's research field is broad, ranging from biology, geography, and agronomy to anthropology. With this wide perspective, she analyzes the coffee industry and sees change as possible when everyone is actively involved and supply chains are organized more democratically.

Coffee is part of climate change. We all can help determine whether it becomes more part of the solution or part of the problem.
