IMS DL200IM Shower Screen for DeLonghi Dedica Series & Smeg

Product Features:

• Even Extraction: The 200 µm (micrometer) membrane ensures that water hits the coffee grounds gently and evenly.
• Less Mess: The extremely smooth surface ensures that significantly fewer coffee oils and particles stick to the screen. This keeps the brew group clean.
• Material Quality: Made from stainless steel (AISI 316), food-safe and resistant to corrosion.

Technical Details:

• Outer Diameter: 50.5 mm.
• Inner Diameter: 49.5 mm.
• Wall Height: 9 mm.
• Center Hole: 5.3 mm
• Central Bore: Fits the M5 screw of the Dedica.
• Filter Capacity: The membrane retains even the finest "fines" that could otherwise be sucked back into the solenoid valve.

Compatibility:

The IMS DL200IM was explicitly developed for DeLonghi brew groups with a central screw:

• DeLonghi Dedica Series: EC680, EC685, EC785, EC885 (Arte)
• DeLonghi Icona & Scultura Series
• Smeg ECF01BLEU
• Not Compatible: E61 brew groups or 58mm commercial machines.

Package Contents:

• 1x IMS DL200IM Precision Shower Screen.
• Note: The screw is not included; simply use the original screw from your DeLonghi.

What You Should Know Before Purchasing:

The shower screen optimizes water flow, but is not a substitute for fresh beans or a good grinder. The IMS screen shows its full potential when you switch to a single-wall screen like the KM 51mm Screen. With the original double-wall screens ("crema screens"), the flavor difference is minimal.

The membrane is delicate by design. Clean the screen only with soft brushes or a cloth. Sharp objects will destroy the fine mesh immediately.

Assembly and Care:

Assembly is not rocket science, but does require a light touch:

1. Loosen Screw: Turn the DeLonghi upside down or use a short angle screwdriver.
2. Be Careful When Removing: The old screen often sticks. A gentle lever with a spoon handle helps.
3. Clean: While you have the screen off, wipe out the brew group with a damp cloth.
4. Installation: Insert the IMS screen and tighten the screw hand-tight. Do Not Over-Tighten! If you tighten the screw too much, the screen will bend and water distribution will suffer again. "Hand-tight" is perfectly sufficient.

We recommend a short flush after each brew to rinse away residue. Since backflushing is technically barely possible on the Dedica, you should unscrew the screen every two weeks and clean it in hot water with coffee oil remover. You will be surprised how much residue accumulates behind it despite daily rinsing.

Why Are There Small Notches Visible at the Edge of the Shower Screen?

The notches marked in the image at the edge are inherent to the manufacturing process and are normal for this shower screen. They do not represent damage and have no impact on the function or durability of the product.
