• The table water filter has a total capacity of 2.7 liters.
• The capacity of the filtered water is 1.5 liters.
• A filter cartridge is included, so you can start filtering immediately.
• Per cartridge, 120 liters of water can be filtered.
• A display shows the status of the replaceable cartridge. We recommend, for hygienic reasons, replacing the cartridge every 4 weeks.
• With each filtration process, the carbonate hardness (alkalinity) is halved.
• As the carbonate hardness (alkalinity) value decreases, the total hardness of the water also decreases.
• The replaceable filter cartridge reduces harmful limescale in the water for portafilter machines.
• The water is enriched with magnesium during the filtration process. Magnesium serves as a natural flavor enhancer and supports the coffee flavor.
• The Penguin table filter is dishwasher-safe; only the lid with the electronic display should be cleaned by hand.
• Through a fill flap in the lid, the filter lid does not need to be removed when filling.

The water used for coffee preparation has a massive impact on the coffee flavor. Therefore, filtering tap water is a simple and quick way to enjoy delicious coffee in your cup. Additionally, it significantly protects your portafilter machine. Substances such as limescale can damage portafilter machines and potentially render them completely inoperable. Using a filter will not completely eliminate the need to descale a portafilter machine. However, the frequency of descaling will be significantly extended. This filter is easy to handle and ready to use immediately. The alternatives are using purchased water in PET bottles, which is not really great for environmental reasons, or using a permanently installed filter. Permanent installation is certainly the most convenient solution, but for getting started, this BWT table filter is a good and affordable option.
