Important Notes:

1. Wood handle: Each wood handle is unique, which is why slight variations in color and grain may occur. These natural characteristics are not a quality defect. Small hairline cracks in the wood are professionally sealed and do not affect functionality.
2. Use: The portafilters are not suitable for pre-ground coffee.

Care Instructions:

• Handle, retention spring, and basket are removable. Please do not unscrew the spout; during reassembly, you will not be able to find the exact same position of the spout again.
• The handle is not dishwasher safe. Cleaning products are also unsuitable. Clean only with a slightly dampened microfiber cloth.

Making great espresso with the Delonghi Dedica 685 and Delonghi Dedica 885

In this 15-minute video, we show what to pay attention to when preparing an espresso and how to achieve a delicious espresso result with the Delonghi Dedica 685 and Delonghi Dedica 885.

Practical application tips for the Delonghi Dedica:

1. What to do if the portafilter sprays?

Cause: Spraying of the portafilter is often caused by so-called channeling – this is when coffee flows unevenly through the basket.

Solution: Precise work and firm tamping (pressing down the coffee) help reduce channeling. Make sure to fill the basket adequately (e.g., with 16 g APAS) to minimize the risk of channeling.

2. Wet coffee puck after extraction?

It is normal for the DeLonghi Dedica to often leave a wet coffee puck.

Tip: Leave the portafilter locked in place for a moment after extraction to allow excess coffee to drip off. Place a cup under the portafilter to catch drips.

3. After extraction – wait a moment!

After brewing, there may still be pressure on the portafilter.

Note: If you remove the portafilter immediately after extraction, the coffee may "splash". Therefore, wait a few seconds before removing the portafilter.

4. Clean work with the measuring cup

Use a measuring cup (51 mm) to fill the ground coffee cleanly into the portafilter and create less mess.

5. Working with a scale

A coffee scale guarantees consistent results. This allows you to precisely control the grind size and amount. You can find more tips on espresso preparation here.
