Why do we sell this needle tool?

The needle tool is a useful aid for achieving more even espresso shots from a portafilter machine. Espresso-finely ground coffee beans tend to form clumps. With the needle tool, these clumps in the portafilter can be broken up quickly and easily. Homogeneous grounds help avoid channeling. After using the needle tool, the coffee grounds are tamped and then the portafilter can be inserted into the portafilter machine for extraction.
