Kinu M47 Grind Setting Guide

Why We Sell the Kinu M47 Classic Hand Grinder

The Kinu M47 Classic hand grinder delivers excellent grinding results and can be used for brewing espresso and filter coffee. What we particularly like is the continuously adjustable grind setting. This makes the grind very precisely adjustable. This is a major advantage, especially when brewing espresso beans, compared to hand grinders that use a click system . The construction is very robust and of excellent quality. We also appreciate the timeless design.

Recommended Grind Settings for the Kinu M47 Classic

Espresso: 1 to 1.5 rotations - depending on the bean and roast level. Robusta and dark roasts are best ground with 1 rotation and lighter roasts with about 1.5 rotations.

Filter Coffee (Pour Over): 3-4.5 rotations for pour over filter coffee methods like V60 or Chemex.

French Press: A coarser grind, in the range of 4-6 rotations, is recommended for French press.

Experiment with small amounts of coffee to better understand the impact of grind setting on flavor. Also note that the type of beans and their roast can influence the optimal grind setting.
